For the LADIES!

Hello to all!!!! Its been a hot sec since I really blogged about my thoughts. My mind has been all over the place since the beginning of this year. I definitely know that the next phase of my life is about to unfold because I feel differently. Anywho, enough about me. I wanted to dedicate this post to the **LADIES** (guys, feel free to read if you'd like).
Lately on facebook, I've been seeing alot of ladies "put themselves out there" so to say. I'll read statuses such as...."I wish I had a boo...I'm lonely" OR "I'm tired of men saying that my butt is big" OR "Why do guys always run over me?"....etc. etc. Now, please don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their own opinions & can share whatever they choose in their statuses, but when I read them I just want to go & pick up that particular young lady, take her to dinner, & talk to her about WHY she shared what she shared.

For example, when a lady says, "I wish I had a boo...I'm lonely", in my opinion that isn't meant for the world to hear. That's a personal issue that must be dealt with privately. When you put something like that out to read by others, you may give off the impression that you are desperate for attention or miserable. A statement such as "I'm tired of men saying that my butt is big" is definitely something that should be kept to oneself (in my personal opinion). Why on earth do you want to share that? If you are tired, sharing it through a status is not going to help the problem. If anything, it may even bring MORE attention to your butt...lol. You can't change what people will say about you. Obviously it must have bothered this young lady because when you aren't bothered by it, you let it roll off like water on a duck's back! And the last statement/question, "Why do guys always run over me?' is something that no one but you & God can discuss...lol. I'm not laughing at this young lady, but I'm laughing at the situation all together. One reason may be because you need to re-evaluate the men that you let into your life. If they continue to do the same thing, then you may just need to take a look at yourself. People will only do what you allow them to, and if they constantly do that then that may be a self-esteem/confidence issue. There are plenty more statements that have drawn attention to some young ladies, but these are the only ones I could think of at the time.

I am in no way trying to put down or disrespect anyone. But I simply want to share with the LADIES that when you put things up such as this that it may draw the wrong opinions/impressions of others. They may also see you in another light. I know everyone's confidence levels & relationship with God isn't the same, but when you begin to love God more & yourself, you will definitely only want to display those things that are positive & admirable to look at & read. I personally want people to respect you & look at you in a beautiful light, not one that is depressing, attention-seeking, & dark! Ladies, I encourage you to want MORE for yourself! I know certain situations you've been through may have prevented you from doing so, but you must find that inner peace & begin the process towards "freeing" yourself from it all! Let the "attention" find you....DON'T SEEK IT! :-)

  1. Very informative blog Shenina!! I found the last statement that you made most profound, "Let the attention find you, dont seek it." This needs to be a daily reminder for those of us who are stuggling to accept "self" and being content. I think that if these few yet powerful words would have been a daily confession so many of us would have avioded unnecessary situations.

  2. A- to the- MEN Tunja, lol!!!!! Girl, if I would have known more about this when I was younger, I definitely could have avoided alotttttt of things. But I thank God that I'm yet learning & have experienced a little of what life will teach you! So many of us are "attention seekers" because I too have fallen in this category. I just don't want to see my sisters continue to "fall" for it because when done properly, it will come naturally! Thanks for commenting & stopping by lady. It means alot, and as always...I really appreciate your support & feedback!!!!!
