Someone needs YOU!

We MUST pray for one another!

As I sit here cutting invitations I'm making for a dear friend's engagement party, I couldn't help but to just thank God for being so awesome! I didn't really have anything else to tell him but THANK YOU. In the midst of me saying it, I could have started praying for MY healing and MY deliverance, and MY protection and MY blessings......but instead, I just thanked him & started praying for others. Though it is good to tell God how we are feeling, what we desire him to do for us, and more...it is also equally as good (if not better) to pray & intercede on behalf of others. Even at this very moment that I'm typing & you are reading this, somebody somewhere is on the verge of committing suicide, some mother is being beaten & raped, a child is being molested, bullied, & afraid to go to sleep, a father is slowly killing himself with alcohol because he can't provide for his family, and so on and so forth. There is so much going on within our communities, and the prayers of those who trust in and truly believe God need to be lifted up. Today, take the time to pray & help someone who can't pray for or help themselves. Remember: ITS NOT ABOUT US! Somebody needs you right now :-)

I pray God's love, mercy, compassion, courage, comfort, strength, clarity, understanding, unity, and guidance upon each of you that have taken the time to read my posts. I also encourage you to continue living a bold, RIGHT life before God & before others. Truth be told, Its not exactly easy to do things according to how God wants them done, but you definitely can do it! Its an ongoing process & when you give God your all, he will in turn do the same for you! Be blessed going in & coming out now & forevermore. AMEN.

Hahahahaha!!!

What makes you laugh? I am such a silly person at times. I will laugh at almost anything...I mean anything. If I trip over my shoe, depending on my mood at the time, I will laugh. Commercials make me laugh, reality t.v. makes me laugh, being around my sisters, brother-in-law, & nephew make me laugh because they are true, bonafide & certified comedians, lol! I laugh at how I look sometimes, how I think, the decisions I make, & the way I do things. Overall, I just like to laugh. Everytime I do so, I feel so much better. I encourage you to just laugh sometimes & not to take things so seriously. Even God has a sense of humor cause "he be straight snappin' " at times...lol. Jesus is my homie & I thank him for the relationship that we have. There are definitely some things that will make you frown, but way more things to be happy & laugh about! Check out a few commercials that I find hil-to the-arious, hahahahahaha....

PEACE & BLESSINGS!!!! :-)

HAIR update!

Howdy!!! Well, it seems as if my hair is starting to grow more. At first, I began to get a little discouraged because I felt as if it was at a MAJOR standstill. I was once told that taking progress pictures of how your hair looks before, during, & after a haircare challenge or regime does wonders, and I have found that to be true. My current hair regime consists of:
  • Washing/Co-washing my hair at least once a week with Desire More Naturals Black Soap Shampoo or any conditioner I have on hand. Currently, I am conditioning my hair with Avon Naturals Almond & Avocado moisturizing conditioner for dry/damaged hair, sold by my Avon representative & I LOVE it! I purchased two, 33.8 oz. bottles for only $4.99 each. I'm not sure if they still have that sale going on for the bigger bottles though. I normally let the conditioner sit on my head for at least an hour.
  • I then proceed to rinse it out & use a leave in conditioner/moisturizer on my hair. Currently, I am alternating between Aphogee's Balancing Moisturizer and Lisa Rachel's Conditioner/Cleanser with Olive & Aloe (the generic version of theWEN by Chaz Dean product.)
  • After moisturizing with a water-based product (the first ingredient will be water/aqua), I seal in the moisture with any hair oil I have on hand. The majority of the time, I use Desire More Naturals SONshine Hair Growth Oil.
  • I then proceed to twist my hair all over in about 7-9 big twists & let them airdry overnight. I sleep with a satin bonnet on every night. Whether I take my twists down or not the next day, I usually try to give myself a scalp massage to stimulate growth, & re-moisturize my hair every night. (I haven't been doing a good job with that lately, lol.).
But thats it! I also take BIOTIN vitamins for healthy skin, hair, & nails to encourage growth as well. Below are my hair comparison pics from January & March. I have the same exact hairstyle, & you can tell juuuuust a little that it is fuller & a tad bit longer. I pray it continues to grow. I plan to straighten my hair for my 1 year Natural Anniversary at the end of May :-)

THIRSTY?

DRY BONES
Ezekiel 37: 1-14

Have you ever felt as if you were empty, like nothing was inside? Its like the confidence in God that you once had, that joy, that peace, and comfort are all like faint memories & have been washed away "suddenly". You don't feel powerful against the enemy anymore and it seems as if there is a 3 mile distance in between you and God. Well I've been there many times & you are not alone. After talking to one of my sisters in Christ, I was given Ezekiel 37: 1-14 to read. This passage is talking about the "dry bones" inside of us. It blessed me, so I wanted to share it & bless you!

When you are "dry", the spirit of the Lord (Holy Spirit) doesn't live inside of you. When bones are dry, they are very brittle and are prone to "break" at anytime, thus being useless. Only when they are "nourished" will they function properly.

So, how did we become "dry" in the first place?
1. We are DEHYDRATED (not praying, not fasting, not seeking God, being disobedient, lazy, etc.) All of the nutrients needed to stay hydrated (full of life, joy, peace, etc.) have left. We aren't taking enough of the "right" things in.
2. Our sin "cuts us off" from the source of life (God).

We can't expect to walk around joyful & full of power all of the time or prosper in all the right areas if we aren't consistently acknowledging God and being fed spiritually. Just as in any relationship, in order to learn more about that person & to see how you both can improve each other's life, we too have to do the same with God. We must seek his face each and everyday, living righteously and obeying the commandments that he has set before us. When we leave God, then we leave our joy, peace, comfort, prosperity, strength, etc. It is vital that we stay "hydrated" and continue to do what the Word of God tells us to do.
Walking around doing what we want to do, when we want to do it, and only acknowledging God when we are in tough situations will not cut it. We can't just open our Bibles and come to church on Sundays and Wednesdays expecting to experience God's ultimate plan for us. It takes effort on our parts to read, study, pray, & do good deeds "outside" of the church in order to grow even more spiritually. Because we "popcorn" with God, we purposely leave room to become spiritually dead, dull, lifeless....DRY.

To be quenched from dryness (re hydrated), we have to (Ezekiel 37: 4-10):
1. First REALIZE that we are in fact dry. Admitting that we are empty inside gives God even more room to work on our behalf. Confess your sins and honestly admit to God where you have fallen short.
2. HEAR the Word of God speaking to us. In order to properly "hear" God, we have to get rid of those things and people that are hindering our growth. For example, if you've been watching too much t.v., seeking others for advice first instead of God's direction, or have been listening to more R&B lately than you have Gospel, we leave room for the enemy to creep in, thus helping to take over our thoughts/actions. When we "hear" God speaking to us, we must listen & be doers of his Word.
3. RECEIVE "life" from the Holy Spirit. We receive life through obedience. Once we realize & admit that we are dry, remove the very things/people that are causing us to be dry, and obey the spirit of the Lord, we can then begin to get spiritually nourished again.

When the adrenaline begins rushing (holy spirit starts moving) & that STRENGTH/POWER we once had rises again, we will be forces not to be reckoned with (Revelation 11:11). God will do just as he said, but its up to us whether we are "thirsty" enough for LIFE! If we are in the dust, we must wake up & shout for joy (Isaiah 26:19). We were created to praise God, in spite of what we go through. Its all in our praise! Only God can renew, refresh, & restore us. You don't have to be dry forever. If there is emptiness somewhere, then that means you may have some "dry bones" that are dead inside of you. Wake them up by receiving & obeying God's word! Only then will we have enough life to continue on. With that, we will neve be thirsty again....

Girl, CHILL OUT!

Whooooo! Hey guys & gals...just a quick update: I finally "moved" from one state to the next (back to my hometown). Let me tell you, it was NOT an easy task, lol. I was almost on the brink of throwing EVERYTHING away...hahaha. But the "cheap" side of me wouldn't allow that. So, with the help of my awesome dad & a family friend, we gathered enough energy to load everything on the U-haul & sail off down the highway and then to the storage where my belongings currently reside, lol.

For the past week now, I've been thinking about the next phase of my life. I haven't been meditating nor spending that QT with God on this because I almost feel as if I don't know where to begin. I know that spending time reading the Word, praying, & talking to God are crucial right now. Spiritually, I haven't been "here" because I once again feel overwhelmed. There are alot of things I'd like to do, & as I've stated in one of my previous posts, I become so overwhelmed at times to the point I don't do anything at all. At this point in my life, I cannot afford to do NOTHING. With that being said, my call of duty is approaching rapidly.

So, I know God is leading me into another branch of ministry. I have always been that "big sister" to host of cousins/church members, friends, classmates, etc....and that is where I believe God would have me to be. Working with youth has always been a passion of mine, so I'm now just trying to see what age group that needs to be targetted the most & exactly what resources I need to get started, first in my church & then in the community.

I know God sometimes looks at me & says, "Girl, just chill out"...lol! I sometimes go overboard with everything. If I just take the time to sit down & do what I can while I can, I know things will go much smoother for me. Things def aren't always what they seem or appear to be. Man, I love God so much & I don't want to proceed to the next step ever again without his permission. I want to stay in his will, that's why I sometimes stall because its like I want to know that I know that I know that I know he has given me the "green light". I've also finalized where I'll be living, so I should be moving all of my stuff (yet again) within the next month! Other than that, I've been doing so much thinking lately & haven't had an appetite to blog. But I just wanted to stop by & say HI! My mind is all over the place right now, but with God I know I will make it! Sooooo, I'm just chillin' out until he says "GO"...lol.
