For whatever reason, I've always been fascinated with weddings. I love attending them, seeing all of the beautiful decorations, and hearing the "For Better or For Worse" vows. It brings tears to my eyes almost every time I am in the presence of a couple who have been through their triumphs and struggles together, to finally commit to one another until death-do-them-part. I had the priviledge of being the Maid-of-Honor in my oldest sister's wedding as well as one of my college roommates. When it comes to weddings, I have so many fabulous ideas and you can only imagine what my favorite t.v. shows consist of....ANYTHING dealing with brides/weddings, lol!
So, I've been asked to coordinate a friend's wedding for her. She'll be getting married in August 2011 & I am super excited for her. I've always secretly wanted to become a certified wedding planner/event coordinator and have had many opportunities to do so. I'm still giving it more thought, but I know it is also a great way to bring in another source of income. Anywho, I am currently getting things together for her wedding now. I would say that I definitely have an "eye" for very creative and unique decoration ideas that no one else has done or would probably think of (which is one reason I am excited). She doesn't want a big wedding, just small and intimate with their closest family and friends, so I figured this would be a great start to building my portfolio if I decided to make it out of an official business. Everything has been going great so far, and I pray that their day will be filled with lots of love! If my name is behind anything, I'm the type of person that likes to have everything in order, so this will be no exception!
So besides my move (this Friday...yaaaaay!), school, ministry, & working on her wedding, I'll be juuuust a tad busy, but I'm grateful to occupy my time with positive things. Below are the colors of my friend's wedding that I'm coordinating. I'm thinking of doing a theme but am unsure of what it will be as of now. If you have any ideas, please feel free to share!!! All of this only makes me even MORE excited about MYYYYY wedding day (for a few of my future wedding plans, click here), and I know that God is yet preparing both my future husband and I for it :-)
The wedding colors are Watermelon/Fuschia & Grey |
The accent colors are silver/ ivory...pretty :-) |
Hey girl. Yet again, we have something in common (loving wedding and wanting to become event planners). I can only imagine the ideas that you have for the wedding. I'm sure it's going to be fab. I'm loving the color she scheme. I may be back with some input :-)God bless on using your wonderful talents.
ReplyDeleteWow...that is amazing Audrey! We are souuuuul sistahs...lol! But yes maam, I love me some weddings & anything dealing with brides. A few years ago, I was going to actually go ahead and become certified in this area but I decided to finish with school first. Now that I have juuuust a little down time, I'm thinking about it even more. Whatever the Lord says, then that's what I'll do....lol! But I'm coming up with more ideas as time passes. This will be my first official wedding/reception that I'll do by myself, so I'm excited & anxious at the same time. I'd love to hear your input if you're led to share girl! Thanks for everything & I owe it ALL to God :-) "WHEN" you decide to go full-time with it....let me know :-)
