Dear Sister,
I don't know any other way to tell you this, so I'll do my best to convey the message. Sister, I am not your enemy. Though society may try to play us against each other and have us believing that the other is jealous and/or in competition among so many other things, please disregard. I want whats best for you. I want to see you joyful, happy, prosperous, and in good health! I w
ant to see you open
businesses, climb the ladder of success, and excel marvelously in all
that you do. I want you to accomplish all of your goals and be the most
amazing person you were destined to be & the most fabulous person I
know that you are. I don't hate or dislike you regardless of what you
may think or what people may tell you.
Contrary to popular belief, I don't want to see you fall. Though I may not say it, I actually think you're beautiful, intelligent, smart, funny, and very charismatic. The way you carry yourself exudes confidence, at which I admire greatly. I love your sense of style and the way you strut in those heels is fascinating to me girl, lol. Can you teach me how to walk in 'em? I am so proud of who you're becoming! I appreciate what you do, how you do it, and how you hold yourself together in times of difficulty. Folding under pressure is not you, and I thank you for showing me how to endure life's storms as God sees fit.
Sister, I love you. I'm not sure how, where, or when you began feeling as if I was your enemy, but I want you to know that I am far from it. When you are lifted higher, then I am too and because I want you to continue blossoming into the beautiful flower that you are, all you have to do is let me know how I can help you. They want to see us beef. They want to hear us argue, gossip, and roll our eyes at one another. They want to hear us call each other out of our names and sleep with each others mate. They want us to see who's "da' baddest" instead of speaking life into one another. Instead of us working together, they want us to crawl on top of each other and that my sister is not going to happen.
Before I go I want you to know that God loves you and so do I. When you hurt, I hurt so I don't take pleasure in kicking you when you're down. Can't you see that I truly care, or have "they" clouded your mind with assumptions of me before you even got the chance to really know & understand who I was? Why can't we be amazing together? Why can't you be happy for me just as I am for you and vice versa? I just had to tell you that you're such a joy & that God has much more in store for you. I can't wait to see you progress further in life because I know you will be a blessing to many. I didn't know how to tell you this in person because they were around you and in your ear, once again filling your mind with junk. I don't want to fight you, I just want to congratulate you. If you didn't hear/read anything I said, please just know that I am not your enemy. I am simply your sister.
Sincerely,

I love this post!!! It is so needed. It bothers me when women give into the "catty" stereotype and act funny just because that's what the world expect them to do.
ReplyDeleteI hope things are going well for you. Sorry for being M.I.A. It's been a bit busy around here. I also took a "blog/fashion/everything online recreational" break for a couple of weeks...I'm back now (^_^)
Heyyyyyyyyyy sis!!! I definitely agree with you! Alot of us are hating one another for NO reason at all. It saddens me to think that judgement is made on people simply based off how they look on the outside without even attempting to get to know them first. But prayerfully we will get better :-)
DeleteI'm glad you took some time off because we ALL need it!
