I'm "MOVING"! (literally)

Moving is such a pain in the butt! If moving things by yourself with very little to no help, it takes alot of energy, strength, discipline, and determination to package items, move those heavy objects around, decide what needs to be kept and thrown out, and to load everything into a truck and/or car. I'm actually in the process of moving RIGHT now & truthfully speaking, it hasn't been just that bad for me. Besides hauling things up & down the stairs (can you say OUT of breath? Lol), & throwing away stuff I forgot I even had, it hasn't been a horrible experience. Through the process, God revealed some things to me about "moving" at which I've somewhat shared via facebook This was my status:

...I'll be PACKING & CLEAN(t)ING all day...lol, but it will certainly be for the BETTER! "There comes a point in your life where you must "pack up/clean up" whats necessary in order to "move/relocate" to the next chapter of it! Only when you start the "packing process" will you find alot of things that you didn't need anyway & will eventually throw out. That way, your "new residence" will be CLUTTER FREE!" (continued)--Going back to familiar territory is sometimes for the BEST! My ♥ lies with where I started & developed into the fabulous young lady that I am today! With that being said, some don't understand my reason behind moving "back", & its not for them to! When you know your PURPOSE ( in anything), it gives you the strength to say "So WHAT" & do the work God has called you to do. Its simply called: OBEDIENCE! :-)~Nina♥

This is only ONE side of my townhouse (& everything isn't even on this side yet... lol! My sister & I have accumulated so much stuff within 2 years! Thank God for daddy! :-)
So with that being said, I think you get the point! Though "moving" can be a bit of a hassel, sometimes the rewards, as a result of the aches & pains you may receive from "removing heavy objects", are DEFINITELY worth it! Happy "MOVING" to me! On to the next chapter of my life.....

You KNOW me huh?...Umm, NOT REALLY!

20 random things you may not know about me.....

1. I absolutely LOVE onions & cheese. I will put both on just about anything...with the exception of things like cereal & ice cream...lol!
2. I wear a size 8 shoe & am 5'4
3.The smell of those little toilet bowl fresheners (the ones with the metal hooks) are just lovely to me!

SMILE: It looks good on YOU!

The more you *SMILE* the better & BRIGHTer you will feel!
With everything that is going on around you, sometimes you MUST take a chill pill, time-out, break (or whatever you want to call it) to just *SMILE*. It may be easier said than done, but you can definitely do it! We often put more energy into frowning, spreading gossip, turning our nose up at certain things/people, walking as if we are stuck on a high horse & don't want to come down, and worrying/stressing over things we can't change.

As you've read in the definition, when a person smiles, it usually is a sign that shows pleasure or amusement towards someone/something. If we could just take a moment to find pleasure in the negative things we encounter, our days, weeks, months, and years will go by so much smoother. Find something you enjoy doing to take your mind off of your circumstances. For example, do something good for someone to make them *SMILE* even when you feel you can't. It will make you feel much better, and most importantly, God *SMILES* when we do positive things to uplift one another.
Sooooo, even during a bad break-up, find the time to *SMILE* about something. When your friends walk away from you, *SMILE*....When you feel as if your back is against the wall, *SMILE*...When you have more bills than money, *SMILE*...Though they hurt you, *SMILE*....because God is working it out for YOUR good! Believe that he has your best interest at heart and that though every struggle comes strength! Find pleasure through the bad in your life!

Me being silly...lol! I hope this makes you *SMILE*..haha!
Even in the midst of your storm, what is it that you can still *SMILE* about today? Whatever that thing is, keep it in mind & never forget that you have SO MUCH to be grateful for! Try *SMILING* right now....IT LOOKS GOOD ON YOU! :-)

This too shall pass....

Today, I woke up feeling "HEAVY". Not just physically, but spiritually, emotionally, & mentally as well. Its like I sensed something isn't right. Though I tried to share my thoughts through my status on facebook earlier, it still wasn't enough. So I began praying, which was the only thing I knew to do. Even after that, I felt better but I still feel something different in the air. There have been so many deaths & tragic events that have happened lately, and my heart goes out to each and every family and loved one that has had to experience these difficult times. A classmate of mine was just killed a few days ago, and though we weren't the best of friends, it still hurts. At first I didn't feel anything because I was in denial, but the more I think about it, the more I see that it is indeed real. I may have to do my first Resolution reading for a deceased classmate at her funeral and it is starting to settle in my mind that this is indeed real. On top of that, I feel overwhelmed with some things in my life & just need to take a time-out. Man, life is so real & I'm realizing more than ever that we don't have time to sit around. We must be about our Father's business. I know God is a comforter & peace in the time of the storm, so I have no choice but to trust him! I am still hopeful & I know all will be well.

We just have to learn to accept whatever God allows. The experiences that others have gone through may very well be valuable lessons to us. When God gives us warnings on certain things, we must take heed. I don't want to miss the warning signs because whatever it is that God has in store for me, I would like to receive with open arms! Continue praying everyone and live your life the best way you know how...especially a life that is pleasing to God! In the end, only what we do for CHRIST will last!!! I love each of you!

For the LADIES!

Hello to all!!!! Its been a hot sec since I really blogged about my thoughts. My mind has been all over the place since the beginning of this year. I definitely know that the next phase of my life is about to unfold because I feel differently. Anywho, enough about me. I wanted to dedicate this post to the **LADIES** (guys, feel free to read if you'd like).
Lately on facebook, I've been seeing alot of ladies "put themselves out there" so to say. I'll read statuses such as...."I wish I had a boo...I'm lonely" OR "I'm tired of men saying that my butt is big" OR "Why do guys always run over me?"....etc. etc. Now, please don't get me wrong, everyone is entitled to their own opinions & can share whatever they choose in their statuses, but when I read them I just want to go & pick up that particular young lady, take her to dinner, & talk to her about WHY she shared what she shared.

For example, when a lady says, "I wish I had a boo...I'm lonely", in my opinion that isn't meant for the world to hear. That's a personal issue that must be dealt with privately. When you put something like that out to read by others, you may give off the impression that you are desperate for attention or miserable. A statement such as "I'm tired of men saying that my butt is big" is definitely something that should be kept to oneself (in my personal opinion). Why on earth do you want to share that? If you are tired, sharing it through a status is not going to help the problem. If anything, it may even bring MORE attention to your butt...lol. You can't change what people will say about you. Obviously it must have bothered this young lady because when you aren't bothered by it, you let it roll off like water on a duck's back! And the last statement/question, "Why do guys always run over me?' is something that no one but you & God can discuss...lol. I'm not laughing at this young lady, but I'm laughing at the situation all together. One reason may be because you need to re-evaluate the men that you let into your life. If they continue to do the same thing, then you may just need to take a look at yourself. People will only do what you allow them to, and if they constantly do that then that may be a self-esteem/confidence issue. There are plenty more statements that have drawn attention to some young ladies, but these are the only ones I could think of at the time.

I am in no way trying to put down or disrespect anyone. But I simply want to share with the LADIES that when you put things up such as this that it may draw the wrong opinions/impressions of others. They may also see you in another light. I know everyone's confidence levels & relationship with God isn't the same, but when you begin to love God more & yourself, you will definitely only want to display those things that are positive & admirable to look at & read. I personally want people to respect you & look at you in a beautiful light, not one that is depressing, attention-seeking, & dark! Ladies, I encourage you to want MORE for yourself! I know certain situations you've been through may have prevented you from doing so, but you must find that inner peace & begin the process towards "freeing" yourself from it all! Let the "attention" find you....DON'T SEEK IT! :-)

HAIR GROWTH

My hair comparison pictures from
May 2010- January 2011
I sometimes dislike my hair. It really gives me the blues at times because I can't seem to manage it properly. On the other hand, I have days where I absolutely am in love with it & can't stop playing in it. May 2011 will be my one year hair anniversary & I can't wait. I manage my hair by conditioning/oiling it everytime I wash or co-wash, twisting it while wet in jumbo plats (protective style), and wearing a silk bonnet every night for further protection. I also try to do daily scalp massages and moisturize with my Desire More Naturals products.
I recently straightened my hair for the second time to check for growth. It definitely grew some, but my hair needs a really bad trim/cut. So even with that, I know an inch or so may be coming off. Anywho, this is my hair so far & I pray it becomes longer & healthier by May 2011!

Recent Picture....Can you say CHEEEEESE!?? Lol...
